After the previous days very weak impact from the cme, we were hoping for a great show from the solar wind which was due to arrive from the very large coronal hole on the suns magnetic field.
The auroras started to build up in the earths outer atmosphere from around 0700 but was continuously being blocked by earths interplanetary magnetic field until at last it jumped from north to south opening a small door and giving us a brief view of the dancing auroras that where present around or northern hemisphere, these images where from 0809 until around 2109 pm, when it was blocked once more, this time for the rest of the night ,until around 6am, but there was daylight just starting to show through in the skys twilight by then, making it too bright with the waxing gibbons moon light adding to it all,as usual our 6 guests from Ireland had a ball here with www.chasethelighttours.co.uk on Kvaløya, Whale Island, Tromsø.
