Goodbye…Sunspot AR 1944…what a beauty! This has been the biggest and most spectacular sunspot that I’ve ever seen on the surface of the Sun…hopefully many more will follow for Solar Max…. Image orientated as seen in my camera lens with the Sun setting in the west in the Southern Hemisphere...afternoon of the 11th January 2014. Canon DSLR 40D on a tripod with Canon 100-400mm lens and 2x converter (with a glass Orion solar filter attached) lens set at 400mm = 1280mm. 12 exposures stacked in Registack6 all exposures 1/1000th second, at F5.6 and ISO 200 :-))
