Details:
Around 30 minutes of combined exposure time, these are 100 second exposures with the filters red, green, blue, and halpha. In the upcoming pictures I will be using OIII and SII (more narrowband filters). This is the tarantula nebula region in the large Magellanic cloud. It has multiple gaseous regions, and what looks to be an open cluster and a globular cluster (I actually think this is also a dense open cluster). My dad, 49, was just diagnosed with primary esophageal cancer and secondary liver cancer. Every week, as a sign of progress in his recovery, I will move the field ever so slightly to the right to reveal the whole tarantula nebula, thus marking the end of his recovery. I am 14 years old as well, so it is very hard on me. Enjoy the pictures!

Josh, thats an incredible result for a lad of 14! What setup are you using?

So sorry to hear of your dads illness - I wish him a full recovery. You are taking the right positive mental attitude to the situation.

The Prompt8 telescope in La Serena, Chile at the Cerro Tololo Observatory. Not sure what the camera is - that is, what type of CCD it is.
