The pictures below are a comparison between the apparent size of the Sun in perihelion & aphelion. I took each one, using 1000 mm lens & Canon 350D camera. At the same time I captured the great sun in Jun 2014, the giant Sunspot 1944 appeared on the sun as well. Sunspot AR1944, which appeared on January 1st, is one of the largest sunspots of the current solar cycle. It was big enough to be easily seen by naked eyes on the threshold of the Sunset above my hazy western horizon.
