Taken by Ted Adachi on January 1, 2014 @ I caught the aftermath of this early morning's flare. There was a huge cloud floating off the eastern limb. Happy New Year!

Solarmax 60II f/6.6, Canon XTi ISO 800, surface 1/800 sec. prominences 1/250 sec. East and West are reversed.

The surface and prominence shots are 5 layer stacks. Treated with Lynkeos' Lucy-Richardson algorithm and Photoshop for stacking, montage and colour.
