Happy New Year to all! A great night in Northern Finnish Lapland with the beautiful aurora greeting us into 2014, right around midnight! Being based in Inari, it was quite a challenge to catch the aurora because of the bad weather. We could not miss the best fireworks in the world and decided to drive all the way around the Inari Lake some 100km further north to catch some clear skies. A very successful night! Canon EOS 1DX, 14mm, f/2.8, 15s @1600iso

Happy New year. Same to you.

And: please be careful when venturing to these remote areas! Carry multiple means of communication, in case one fails.
