Details:
The diurnal motion in the northern sky around Polaris over half a day.
In Japan, near the Winter Solstice, a night lasts more than 14 hours, and the time span in which stars are visible lasts more than 12 hours.
This photo is a composite of images from 17:35 Dec. 28 to 6:00 Dec. 29 (12 hours 25 minutes), and every star draws a trail over half circle.
It can be seen that Polaris also turns around the celestrial north pole.
A dashed line is a trail of ISS with -4.2 mag.
Nikon COOLPIX P510 digital camera; ISO 400, F3.0, 4s exposure at maximum, 30s interval, f=17mm (24mm optical, x0.7 wide-conversion), 1488 images composited.
