Details:
Moonrise in Maine occurred at 3:54 PM local time. That was 9 minutes before sunset. As such there was not the darkness and contrast that would be visible tomorrow night. The was however sea smoke. The water in Casco Bay is currently 45 degrees F, and the air temperature was 18 degrees. The color in the photo was from the earth's shadow, the Belt of Venus. Happy solstice (the 21st) to all.
