Details:
Tonight the temperature dropped from -13C to -30C in a very short time. Our property backs on to the Rainy River which is on the Canada/USA border and it rarely freezes over. A strong ice mist developed over the open water. The whole scene with the moon was rather "dreamy" as my wife suggested. I bundled up and took a few photos. It was so COLD that the plastic baggie I put my cameras in to avoid condensation before I come in from the cold just split and cracked. I'm sure cold weather photographers know what I'm talking about with painful freezing fingers and camera heads so stiff they are hard to move. There was a weak lunar halo and corona as well. Canon 5D MKII, ISO 1000, f/4.0, 3.2 sec exposure
