Few nights ago we witnessed quite a spectacular and colorful night sky here in Chile. On the attached panoramic image you can see the full color palette, mostly coming from airglow and galactic hydrogen. The prominent green waves, moving towards us from the southwest, is the airglow oxygen emission. The yellow glow close to the horizon (on the left, and on the right) are the lights of near-by towns.

Spectacular picture. I am super jealous of your dark skies. I live close to NYC. Maybe someday I will have to go to Chile!

Wonderful panorama the night sky! Orion upside down - super for our of the Northern hemisphere is very unusual!
