Well, today at about 5:52 am I was able to get a clear view of the eastern horizon of the Comet ISON ! It was just south of and on the level with the bright planet Mercury' which was barely above the horizon. The comet had barely cleared the horizon when dawn began to lighten the eastern sky and battle with the Moon's light which is just past full by a few days so there was little time to do much better than this. The outside temperature was about -6 degrees! Burrrrrr! Fortunately no breeze! The exposure was about 5 seconds at f/5.6 with ISO 6400. The camera was on a stationary tripod and the lens set at 250mm on my Canon T2i digital camera. You can see the TV towers on the butte.
