Details:
I woke up early this morning hoping to image comet ISON but unfortunately the prevailing weather conditions at my place in Quezon City, Philippines clouded out my attempt. However, I was lucky enough to image the other current bright comet, C/2013 R1 Lovejoy. I caught the comet rising above the trees in the Northeast around 3:41 AM PST using my Canon 7D and a Canon 70-200 mm lens at 153 mm, f/4, 25 sec exposure at ISO 800. I also used a Canon 50Da camera on a TMB-92SS f/5.5 refractor to take a higher resolution image from 04:53-04:58 AM PST. I stacked 11 images taken at subs of 25 sec at ISO 800 using Deep Sky Stacker and processed the final image in Photoshop. The bright moon and hazy skies made it very difficult to bring out the comet's tail.
