Blue Aurora Star Trails in Unity, Maine – July 15, 2013
With all the recent talk of possible aurora in the next couple days & because I was making a new collage for my FB cover, I was looking through some of my photos from earlier this year and I remembered this image I haven't published yet.
A composite of 175 frames from a time lapse I set up on these train tracks during the awesome aurora display from back in July when the familiar green, magenta and purple colors changed to BLUE as they spiked. This is a blend of all those frames for the sky and a long exposure of just over 4 minutes at a lower ISO to capture the foreground with as little noise as possible. This image has been processed & blended through Lightroom 4 & Photoshop CS5.
