Dr. Phillips, I tried to contact NASA but most of thier websites are down. Can you look at this image and tell if what I have pointed out is an artifact or not. o you have any zoomed images of ISON to compare? Rick Owens

For what its worth, notice that most of the brightest star trails have a single bright dot up and to the left of the trail. The fuzzy object in question is in about the same relative position compared to the nucleus of the comet as those dots are to the bottom end of each trail. My guess is a misaligned frame.

Yes, it is due to a little error in sum the images ... but is always better than the pretty images FAKE where we can see the comet and stars fixed and pinpoits! Good work anyway!!

You guys are probably aware of all the speculations about ISON popping out everywhere on the internet, claiming that Mars somehow interacted with the comet and paraphrasing, lit up, acquired a coma and a tail, or that it was literally hit by ISON and destroyed. Most claims derived from the videos uploaded by James McCanney on YouTube.
The timing of the US government shutdown which paralyzed NASA activities, as well as the total lack of updated images of Mars and ISON by official governmental agencies and mainstream astronomers, is making things worse and giving a lot of room to conspiracy theories.

Can any of you guys who are regularly posting images of ISON up here, please upload some zoomed image of Mars, or anything else that help clarifying these claims??? Thnks in advance!

James McCanney does not post to You Tube. He only posts on his website and he is very adamant about that. You can go to his site for verification. It would be nice, ucalien, to see pics of Mars from the October 1 time frame astronomers. Thanks
