Details:
Despite the weakest solar max in over a hundred years the aurora has still managed to appear all week for short periods of time every night ,even though the kp value has only been 0/1kp .
All was looking very grim indeed to night the 28/09/2013 the local forecast in Tromsø area was meant to be cloudy by 11pm that night ,but it was crystal clear and stayed that way all night , at 21.16, bang the aurora appeared just as the sun was setting dispute it being 0 kp , which rose to to kp 1 as the night went on.
By 23.39 the beautiful crescent moon rose and joined the already bright aurora in the sky which went on all night until we went home at 3am ,by this time the milky way was clear in the sky above
.All in all we had seven hours of dancing auroras against all odds. there's definitely something to be said about the equinox.
