So this maximum may be disappointing but there is still much to see. The big filament is still making its way across the sun. There are a couple of other smaller filaments in the east and a small hot spot on the eastern limb.

Solarmax 60II f/6.6, Canon XTi ISO 800, surface 1/800 sec. prominences 1/250 sec. East and West are reversed.

The surface and prominence shots are 5 layer stacks. Treated with Lynkeos' Lucy-Richardson algorithm and Photoshop for stacking, montage and colour.
