Details:
A few days ago, this filament appeared thick and fat. Now it is very slender but it really appears to be a large 'wall' of plasma falling onto the surface. We are viewing the wall from the top down so it appears to be quite thin but as this filament approaches the Western limb (if it lasts that long) it ought to start growing fatter.

Solarmax 60II f/6.6, Canon XTi ISO 800, surface 1/800 sec. prominences 1/250 sec. East and West are reversed.

The surface and prominence shots are 5 layer stacks. Treated with Lynkeos' Lucy-Richardson algorithm and Photoshop for stacking, montage and colour.
