Details:
Last year in August I photographed the 3rd quarter moon in the morning sky behind this young Mimosa tree. This year with the moon behind the frilly red blossoms of the Mimosa, I wondered why the photograph showed such a tiny white speck of a moon in the blue sky, while in my 'mind's eye' I saw all the seas and large craters. Today I attached a zoom lens to my camera and captured what I am 'seeing in my head'. If anyone has similar impressions of a bigger than life size moon in the sky, then I'm not alone.
