Details:
Saw possible noctilucent clouds last night from Northern Illinois (42.4 degrees north) starting about 45 minutes after sunset behind a few lower clouds. Bright Venus is seen to the left. The 1st photo was taken about 1 hour after sunset and the 2nd about 1.5 hours after sunset. If these were not noctilucent clouds, then they must have been incredibly high and distant tropospheric clouds to still be illuminated 90 minutes after sunset!
