Details:
A Seestar S50's best attempt at capturing NEA 152637 (1997 NC1) before it's Dec gets too low to observe from the UK. Tonight the Seestar had to contend with rolling haze layers, the Full Moon nearby and a Dec of -24deg (alt 16 deg above horizon). The image has been contrast stretched and an enlarged insert added of the asteroid trail - the gaps are due to dropped frames. The effective exposure was 29x10 sec = 290 sec.
BTW please ignore my earlier image from 2026 Jun 27 UT 00:12-00:15. The streak that I thought was the asteroid could have been from a geostationary or graveyard orbit satellite(?) I also accidentally plugged in the RA and Dec of where the asteroid was supposed to be on the 28th, instead of the 27th, being so close to midnight on the 26th when I prepared to observe.
