Today’s little challenge: capturing Venus and Jupiter in conjunction in broad daylight using only a Nikon. The sky was clear enough to see Venus with the naked eye, although the heat and its high position in the sky at around 2 pm made it difficult to spot. To find it, I stood in the shade of a tree and, using my hands as a guide, looked for it at the angular distance where it should have been. I took several shots at various magnifications, and because Jupiter was so faint, I only confirmed I’d captured it once I’d viewed the images on my computer.
