It was magical, as always! While Europe got the best conditions, the US east coast still got a decent storm between 11 pm and midnight EDST. From my location at 42N in upstate NY, most of the activity was due NW, hence I was further from the show than usual. The tops of the auroral columns were distinctly blue, and this color extended to the east, making the columns look like "smoke stacks". The brightest columns were naked eye visibility while the greens were easily visible.
