Details:
This image has been taken on April 25 2026 and shows the crater Plato and Vallis Alpes with the sinuous rille inside. Vallis Alpes is rift valley which has a flat, lava-flooded floor containing a narrow, challenging-to-spot central rille. Vallis Alpes is considered a graben which is a depressed segment of the lunar surface caused by parallel faults. The crater Plato is near the lunar terminator.
