Details:
Mosaic of two images taken on April 25 2026 of the region including Bode region, including Rima Bode I, II and IV (reported in the top image).China has selected the Rimae Bode region on the moon for its first crewed lunar landing, aiming to touch down by 2030. Rima Bode is located near the lunar equator between Mare Vaporum and the central highlands. It has been chosen for its flat terrain and high scientific value, potentially unlocking insights into lunar geological history (As reported by Yang et al. https://doi.org/10.1038/s41550-026-02790-0). Eratosthenes and Stadius which is a ghostly remnant of an ancient lunar impact crater that has been nearly obliterated by basaltic lava flows have been imaged. For this image only a Mak Cassegrain of 18 cm in diameter was used.
