Details:
I was hoping to capture some sprites from a storm south of Puerto Rico when all of a sudden this meteor appears and explodes with a bright green flash near the Southern cross and the Eta Carinae Nebula. Also seen to the far left is the Alpha Centauri star system, which is the closest star system to our Solar System. The event was captured on April 17 2026 at 11:25pm LT (April 18 2026 at 03:25 UTC).
