Comet C/2026 A1 (MAPS) has brightened a few magnitudes in the last several days as it now moves closer to the Sun and into the evening twilight. The comet was magnitude 8.8 with a coma 3.5 arc minutes wide and had a thin pencil tail about 1/4 degree long visible in these images taken in evening twilight 3.4 degrees above the horizon.
