Since the severe geomagnetic storm on January 19, 2026, the sky became overcast on January 23 and remained completely overcast for several weeks. Only today did we have the first truly clear evening again! From Lerchenberg hill near Börnchen, I managed to spot Venus as the „new“ evening star for the first time today. Thanks to the transparent air, it was even clearly visible to the naked eye… But you had to look closely.
