Details:
Photos taken on the Outer Banks; barrier islands of North Carolina separating Pamlico Sound from the Atlantic Ocean. Temperature was about 37 degrees F, CAVU. In spite of having a Canon R5 in the back seat, there was no plan to shoot sunset, then suddenly there it was. No time to set up R5 so, sadly the iPhone 14 ProMax was the camera by default. Found a pull off from 12 South, the coastal highway and started shooting. Inverted mirage developed unexpectedly as solar disk approached the horizon. Would have been amazing with a long lens.
