I was watching the AR 4366 region with my Lunt 60 on my 10 micron mount. Suddenly a plane flew directly in front of it. Yes, finally I thought ! But it seemed my recording missed it. When I started monitoring again I noticed that my histogram was clipping the highlights at the end. I changed some parameters from my camera but the sun went to dark What is this ? Then I realised: It must be a flare ! I checked the internet and yes a 4.3 X-flare was just recorded. Time of my recording.12:21 UTC. Just after it 's maximum. .... No plane but my first (X) flare ! What a day ! Lunt 60 on 10 micron mount. ZWO 678 MM camera. Processing Autostakkert and Photoshop.
