Details:
Lunar craters Ptolemaeus, Alphonsus and Arzachel. Crater Alphonsus is located close to Ptolemaeus, so that the walls of both craters touch one another. Alphonsus is a floor-fractured crater, one that has been invaded by magma that ponds under the crater often lifting the floor and explosively escaping to form dark halo craters. Many small craters inside Ptolomeus. Lunar region as imaged from Rome January 26 2026 using a Mak Cassegrain 18 cm.
