Details:
On 19 January 2026 at 22:05 UTC, I managed a rare capture: aurora borealis from Samos, Greece (37.7°N). To my eyes the northern horizon looked like ordinary light pollution, but the camera revealed a faint magenta–purple auroral tint sitting above the yellow–orange glow. I’m genuinely thrilled, as this is one of the few natural phenomena I’ve been dreaming of since childhood, and I finally recorded it from my own birthplace.
