I did not take this image (cloudy at my place). It is a frame from Mt. Katahdin Aurora Webcam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALtHHb736xo from 12/17/25 at 21:23:53 cam time. What is showing on the cam are pink bands angled and curving. I suspect that this might be the "dunes aurora"? On Dec 13 Ewan Kane from Scotland posted here a much better picture of what I believe is the same phenomenon on Dec 13. The structures seem to be quite stable and persist over time (they are not as dynamic as the typical electron aurora). I wonder what Tony Phillips thinks about these. Thanks!
