Details:
I was not aware of the aurora during the event. Maybe due to the moon light. But some friends showed me their images and I went to check my camera and there it was, the aurora beautifully sparkling for a couple of hours.
The weather in the area rapidly changes quite often, being in the high mountain range of the South Island of New Zealand. I went to an area next to the wall of mountain range that stops the clouds flooding down from the other side. It was very windy, lifting up the camera now and then and got covered with thick clouds and rain as the moon started to set.
