Details:
We have a few UPS battery backup systems protecting our audio/visual and computer equipment that have become my personal severe geomagnetic storm alert system. They start clicking on and off when the rural power grid where we live becomes affected by severe geomagnetic storm activity. After completely missing out on the action on Tuesday night, it finally started to clear up last night (Nov 12) around 11:00pm. These photos were taken between 11:00pm and midnight before it started to cloud over again. The full sky image was taken with a Canon 6D MKII DSLR with a Sigma 8mm fisheye lens. The other photos were taken with a Canon 6D DSLR with a Sigma 20mm ART lens. This display was a bit different as the corona would form shapes and then literally fade out and then fade back in. I have seen a lot of pulsing before but this was much slower in duration.
