Details:
The aurora waxed & waned during the evening, reaching an altitude of Polaris (+30 degrees) in a broad band over the northern horizon. Visually, the sky was perceptively pale red to a altitude of about 15-20 degrees with a pale green glow within about 5 degrees of the horizon. The image features the 12m (40ft) McDonald Geodetic Observatory dish illuminated by a flashlight with a diffuser to eliminate hotspots. 10-second exposure with iPhone 12.
