Details:
The weather forecast had indicated mild and clear weather, so my I plan had been to do a star trail around Polaris with my 10mm lens. As it so happened, the universe added some beautiful auroras to the mix. They were brightest and with visible color immediately at the beginning, but faded to just barely visible soon after. I am amazed how well defined the auroras turned out despite the 25 second exposure for each frame. Total of about 180 frames over 80 minutes, and then combined in post (also removed three aircraft from the sky and bright spots on the foreground from several vehicles driving by).
