Details:
Comet Lemmon tonight (Oct 25) appeared to have much more turbulence in the tail structure and it almost looks like there is a tail disconnect happening but I am not an expert. There is also a strange looking orange coloured artifact in the top right of the image. This artifact does not appear in any other images I took. There were no sources of errant light that I noticed so it is a mystery. Also, I made an error in last night’s image posting and misidentified Arcturus when it was actually Alphecca in Corona Borealis. I wondered why it was blue as Arcturus is a red giant. My bad, but there were lots of clouds. This single exposure photo was taken with a Canon 6D MKII DSLR and a Canon 100-400mm lens set at a focal length of 120mm, f/4.5, ISO 5000, 43 second exposure. Tracking was done with an iOptron SkyTracker (Gen 1) Mount.
