Details:
The SWAN comet was captured from the Italian Alps, near the Swiss border, at an altitude of about 1,850 meters. Using a planetarium software, I discovered that the comet would pass near the M16 and M17 nebulae between October 17 and 18. Taking advantage of the good weather conditions, I photographed the comet in the nebular region on October 17. Details: Canon EF 200 mm f/2.8 L II USM lens stopped down to f/3.5. Canon EOS 500D Baader-modified camera on a SkyWatcher EQ6 Pro mount. IDAS LPS-D1 EOS Clip filter. Stack of six 3-minute exposures at ISO 800.
