Details:
I was out photographing Comet Lemmon last night in clear dark skies. When I processed the images in my computer I discovered I had captured a swarm of satellites in my exposure, likely mostly Starlinks. Using GraphicConverter's Curves function, I opened up the darkest portions of the image. That revealed the skyglow and the faint satellite trails. The image was made about 85 minutes after local sunset. Comet Lemmon was visible to my naked eye, and a few of the brighter satellites. What startled me was finding no less than 22 satellite trails from a single 8-second exposure. That's a lot , to me anyway. Nikon D5300 dslr camera with an old manual Nikkor AIS 35mm f/2.0 lens . Shot this frame wide open at f/2 for 8 seconds at ISO 4000 daylight color balance. Image processed in GraphicConverter image editor , with noise reduced by Nik D-Fine plug in and resized to 4K resolution.
