Details:
We usually never see NLCs at our latitude of 34 N but tonight at 650pm MST we had an exception. The SDA Tranche 1 Transport mission launched from VAFB at 403pm MST and sunset here was 554pm so I completely ignored this event. However, after 5 days of rain we had super clear sky after sunset and the NLC was strikingly visible less than an hour after sunset low in the west. No other clouds in the sky and it remained mostly stationary for the next 20 minutes before eventually fading away.
