Details:
The bright streaks emanating from crater Tycho in the Southern Lunar Highlands stretch across the entire surface of the moon. As a Science Teacher, this is my 'go to crater' when showing children the moon through a telescope. It was named after the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe (1546–1601). My photo was taken on 01 October 2025 at 21:00 when the moon was 10 days old. https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/5415/ Scientific Visualization Studio of NASA is a great resource for identifying individual craters on the moon in real time.
