Details:
In the current long geomagnetic storm, at last I got a substorm in our local night moonless hours. This was just before today's G3 peak. The level was probably still G2, but here it was still night, or better, dawn. Here in Europe (not so close to N geomag pole as in North-America) G2 means red/violet aurora toward North only in photography. Of course, since at dawn, violet sunlit aurora, due to N2 ionized by solar UV.
