Details:
These auroras were not naked eye visible, probably due to my location with heavy light pollution. Still, the pillars were purely red and shot up well above the horizon after 4 am local time. This is one of those situations where we were not technically in a geomagnetic storm, yet auroras were seen as far south as you typically would with a G3 storm. This is thanks to the persistent southward Bz of this CME, which left the east side of the sun on Sep 24. The RM effect also helped out.
