Details:
There has been a lot of talk about Interstellar Comet 3I/ATLAS being an alien spacecraft. The truth is that Comet 3I/ATLAS is a very boring interstellar comet that is passing through our Solar System. Hopefully the comet will become a little more active when it passes our Sun in October before it eventually leaves our Solar System in the next few years on its way to other parts of our Milky Way Galaxy. In these images one can see that the comet is not much to look at, it is very slowly brightening as it moves closer to the Sun, but its coma is only about 0.005 degrees wide and shows no tail in these images although very large telescopes suggest it has a very short anti-tail in front of the comet. It is a comet that has been cold for a very long time in interstellar space so maybe it could surprise us as it warms up or if it is an alien spacecraft it could decide to investigate Earth, but realistically it is probably just a small frozen rock that will pass through our Solar System without making much noise or putting on much of a light show.
