Details:
I imaged Titan Shadow Transit of Saturn from my Manorville, NY Observatory on 08-19-25. Please Note: I am very happy to have had the opportunity to see this RARE event on two separate occasions. First on 08-03-25 and then on 08-19-25. This image is not great do to the poor seeing conditions all night. Damian Peach told me I should use a red IR filter on a mono camera when seeing conditions are not good. With that said, I used a Baader Red 610 nm Longpass Filter on a Player One Saturn-M SQR USB3.0 Mono Camera (IMX533) Baader Planetarium Baader Fluorite Flatfield Converter Barlow (BPFFC). Titan Shadow refers to the shadow cast by Saturn's moon, Titan, when it passes between the Sun and Saturn, visible from Earth during specific transit periods. These transits occur roughly every 16 years, corresponding to Titan's orbital period around Saturn. The transits are most easily viewed when Saturn's rings are edge-on from Earth, which happens periodically. The most recent transit series began in November 2024 and will conclude in early October 2025. Kind Regards To ALL 🙂
