Details:
For about 10 years now I have postulated that there is a hidden microspicule layer in the photosphere and it is directly associated with neutral iron wavelengths. Very brief, and difficult to see- these coherent magnetic fields can extend across the entire length of the sun and go unnoticed. THey dissipate in about 60 seconds and can form anywhere on the solar disk. They do not become prominences, although on the limb they may appear as a diffuse layer that is not the chromosphere or corona. This thing looks to be about 100,000km long. SDO HMI timestamp included.
