Details:
I wondered if I would be able to record the faint, distant speck of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) amidst the dense star fields of Sagittarius in our Milky Way.
After downloading the JWST Ephemeris from the JPL Horizons website, I generated a Custom Database in The Sky X Pro which plotted positions at 1-hour intervals for 13th July 2025.
After slewing to the plotted location, I was surprised at how bright the JWST was.
I could see its track in real time on the Notebook screen as each 60 sec exposure downloaded and displayed, even amidst the dense star field.

60x60 sec exposures.
I have attached a full resolution 1600x1200 pixel crop from the field of view, a screen capture from The Sky X Pro and a x2 up-sampled image to show the track more clearly.
Dennis.
