Details:
This is a part of the CME featured in the SOHO movie in homepage. It's due to a big filament explosion. A similar event happened two days before, also on North West (right) border. The detached prominence was a dozen Earths long. SDO showed that the filament was unsettled already the previous night. In the timelapse, in the CME are visible several flares at corona elevation, chirality, and finally the formation of a front (not directed to Earth). The latter remained consistent after this timelapse, at least 30 minutes long. The 2nd and 3rd timelapse are just parts of the 1st timelapse, but less cropped. Last image is a stacking of everything, improper but revealed the spring-like chiral structure. Captured in a relatively fresh morning, cloudy at beginning (this is the cause of the bright background at beginning) and windy (so the frames' alignment isn't perfect, and I had to re-elaborate some manually). Lunt60HA, Neptune-M. Captured with SharpCap. Elaborated with Autostakkert, ImPPG, Photoshop.
