Details:
In much of the Midwest, we have been plagued for 3 days by a thick layer of wildfire smoke. I was able to capture a photo of some auroral light (reddish at top, greenish at bottom) greatly muted by the dense orange filter of the smoke. This photo was taken near Davis, IL about 12:30 AM CDT on June 3rd. I can only imagine how beautiful the aurora would be in clear skies! The sun and moon have been a dim orange for 3 days.
