Details:
Two big Active Regions (AR), one per hemisphere, both near equator. We're probably in the central moment of this 11y solar cycle (began in 2020), when the S hemisphere max (peaked in 2024) overlaps with the (moderate) 2025 max of N hemisphere. The AR at N is 4100 (ex 4079/4055 in past solar rotations), biggest sunspot of this year (so far), with an Earth-sized core and a Jupiter-sized region around. The AR at S is smaller but delta. A long filament (prominence) connects the two ARs and others on the equator. Plasma, energy and electric signals triggering sympathetic eruptive events can all travel along a filament. A magnetic field around the equator is typical of the solar maximum years. Lunt60HA, PlayerOne Neptune-M camera, seeing 2/5, transp 4/5.
